About Us

Hamco Allied Health is an Occupational Therapy service providing assessment and intervention to support children, adolescents, and young adults to engage more confidently and independently in everyday life.
The service is led by Nathan Hamood, a registered Occupational Therapist with experience across paediatric, adolescent, and young adult practice. Nathan is an Ayres Sensory Integration® Certified Practitioner (CLASI) and has worked extensively with individuals presenting with sensory processing differences, neurodevelopmental profiles, emotional regulation challenges, mental health concerns, and complex support needs.

Nathan’s approach is grounded in:

Translating assessment findings into practical, functional strategies
Collaborative work with families, schools, and support networks
Client-centred and goal-focused practice
Trauma-informed care

Nathan has experience supporting individuals with a range of diagnoses and presentations, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, developmental trauma, intellectual disability, and sensory processing differences. He also works with individuals without formal diagnoses, including those awaiting assessment or experiencing functional challenges impacting daily life.

He has extensive experience supporting adolescent and young adult males, and has a particular clinical interest in working with individuals experiencing challenges related to technology use, gaming, and engagement in everyday activities. Support in this area focuses on regulation, routines, balance, participation, and wellbeing, rather than restriction-based approaches.
Nathan is also Mental Health Endorsed by Occupational Therapy Australia and is able to provide Occupational Therapy services under a Mental Health Care Plan, where appropriate.

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys playing tennis, having a good coffee, and spending time by the river — values that reflect his belief in balance, meaningful activity, and connection as important foundations for wellbeing.
