Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Assessment & Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)

Hamco Allied Health specialises in comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment, including Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) to support therapy planning and funding decisions.

Assessments are designed to develop a clear understanding of an individual's:
  • Functional strengths and challenges
  • Sensory processing and regulation
  • Emotional and behavioural regulation
  • Participation across home, school, work, and community environments
  • Executive functioning, organisation, and independence

Functional Capacity Assessments provide detailed, evidence-based information to support NDIS planning, reviews, and funding requests, with reports written using NDIS-aligned language and clear, practical recommendations.
Assessment may include standardised tools, clinical observation, questionnaires, and collaboration with families, schools, and other supports. You can read more about our assessment process here.

Assistive Technology Assessment & Recommendations

Hamco Allied Health provides Assistive Technology (AT) assessment and recommendations to support safety, independence, and participation in everyday activities.

Assistive Technology assessments focus on identifying appropriate equipment or environmental supports to meet functional needs across home, school, and community settings. Recommendations are guided by a thorough understanding of the individual, their environment, and the activities they want or need to participate in.

Assistive Technology support may include:
  • Assessment of functional needs and environmental demands
  • Trial and recommendation of suitable assistive technology
  • Clinical justification aligned with NDIS requirements
  • Support with NDIS assistive technology funding requests, where required

Assistive Technology assessments are often completed alongside, or informed by, a Functional Capacity Assessment, ensuring recommendations are clearly linked to functional impact and support needs.
